"What is Sarsaparilla?"

Sarsaparilla is a dark, sweetened, carbonated soft drink. It is sometimes referred to as the "Grandaddy of Rootbeer".

The recipe for sarsaparilla is basically the same as rootbeer, except for one additional ingredient - sarsaparilla. The carbonation in manufactured sarsaparilla brands today is commonly achieved though the addition of artificial ingredients. Natural carbonation may be aquired with yeast, or CO2.
